The Take Over Day team did a fantastic job once again interviewing children to take on a variety of roles within school and outside of school for our Take Over Day in November. One of the highlights was a group of children visiting Manor House to help give out bisuits to the residents and experience what it was like t0 work in a care home. Mrs Baxter wrote this about Jack who took over her job teaching reception for the afternoon.
Jack arrived promptly to Robins class and looked very smart and professional. He was very enthusiastic when he arrived and settled in very quickly. He took the time to get to know the children and very importantly, made sure he introduced himself to the class so that they were comfortable having him in the room. He was incredibly patient with the children, guiding them in areas of provision and giving support and advice when needed.
Jack was meticulous in his approach to each lesson input, making sure that the children were fully listening on the carpet before he started speaking. He was confident working alongside Amelia to deliver our circle time input of managing our emotions and gave clear instructions for the children to follow for the breathing techniques.
Jack was proficient in getting the lesson set up on the computer, and confident in working the smart board. He even added in his own ideas on how to improve the lesson for next time which is fantastic!
Overall we think Jack was a fantastic early years teacher and we loved having him in our class!
