Typical of our approach at Ryecroft Academy, we utilised our festive Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for a very worthy community cause. All of the children contributed £1 and the proceeds were used to purchase personalised thermos flasks. In the New Year our House Captain’s and Vice House Captain’s teamed up with our catering company, Taylor Shaw, to make nourishing and delicious soup. The recipe was taken from an entry into one of last year’s House competitions and we also grew some of the key ingredient on site! On Friday 24 January a group of staff then headed to St George’s Crypt in Leeds City Centre to donate our soup and flasks to homeless people. Ryecroft Academy is proud of its pupils for being compassionate, contributing and responsible citizens.
