Earlier in the year, parents contacted the school about supporting a charity ‘The Homeless Street Angels’ (www.homelessstreetangels.co.uk) and we were eager to respond to this. We then created the ‘Ryecroft Academy Treasure Chest’ and opened this for our families to fill just ahead of the Christmas break. We also sent a monetary donation from the proceeds of Christmas Jumper Day. Families filled the chest with so many donations, demonstrating their enormous generosity. Please see below the photographs of the items being gratefully accepted by members of the team. They were eager for me to pass on thanks to all that donated. As soon as we are able, we will resume our ‘Treasure Chest’ collection evenings for both The Homeless Street Angels and Community Soul.
