On Wednesday 28th April, the Scholars Club attended their online graduation ceremony, hosted by Oxford University.
In the autumn term, some of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils had the fantastic opportunity of working with a PhD tutor in a small group. The intention was for them to find out what it is like to study at university, and to encourage them to think about their ambitions as they get older. They were able to experience being taught in tutor groups and working independently towards a final long essay. Their tutor, Mufleha Ahmad, is a science expert. The children’s research topic was ‘The Healthy Heart’ and they produced some incredibly detailed, well-researched final pieces. Mrs Ahmad was very impressed with their attitudes, resilience and work rate. We would also like to thank Aisha Shaban, who is now a teacher at Morley Newlands Academy. She gave the children a huge amount of support with their learning journey.
