The children have been learning about different roles within our community, through our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. We have looked at fire fighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, vets and police. To support our learning in this topic, we have had a visit from a Nurse and a Detective Chief Inspector.
Nurse Helen talked to us about how she helps people, taught us how to use a stethoscope and put on a bandage. DCI Jackson spoke to us about working in the police force and solving police investigations. The children tried on police hats from the past and the present and talked about what the police wear today and the equipment they use.
