During our spring topic, Early Years had a wonderful opportunity to have Living Eggs in the Nursery and Reception classrooms. The children watched the eggs hatch and the chicks grow each day. We learnt how to care for them and how to handle them. The children made some excellent observations and noticed how the chicks changed as they grew. They have enjoyed drawing and writing about the chicks and chickens in class.
Six of our chicks will be staying with us in our chicken coup, outside the Early Years’ playground.
