At Ryecroft, our extra-curricular programme aims to extend the school day by implementing activities which enhance both mental and physical health and welfare as well as learning. Over the course of the academic year our enrichment program will provide opportunities that enhance all curriculum areas, including performing arts, physical education, STEM and modern foreign languages.
In addition to this, we aim to provide our pupils with an extensive range of sporting activities. These clubs offer our pupils the opportunity to take part in a range of different physical activities and sports, and also the chance to develop important skills such as leadership and teamwork.
We have a full inter-house competition and we have also entered a range of intra-school competitions including Football, Rugby, Cricket, Cross Country, Netball, Multi-skills, Triathlon, Tennis and Athletics.
At Ryecroft Academy we are dedicated in our approach to offering a comprehensive range of extra-curricular opportunities. We believe that pupils can benefit greatly from enrichment opportunities that go beyond the taught curriculum, both in terms of their learning and their well-being. We also believe that it is important that pupils challenge themselves to take part in a wide range of activity types, some of which may take them out of their comfort zone.
If our pupils show high levels of commitment to a club, both in terms of attendance and effort, they will be eligible to receive their achievement sticker. They can earn an achievement sticker for commitment to academic or sporting clubs as well as clubs that represent the arts. If they complete the set, they will be rewarded with their Enrichment++ badge.
